Does the Self-host tier really get every feature? +

Yes — the engine is one codebase. Cloud just operates it for you. Self-host has zero feature flags and is the same binary we run in production.

What does the free nano database include? +

Every org gets one nano instance at no cost — no credit card required. It runs on shared infrastructure with limited resources, perfect for prototyping and side projects.

How does per-resource billing work? +

We meter vCPU, RAM, storage and traffic independently every hour and report to Stripe. You see a full breakdown per database in your org settings. Delete a database and billing stops within the hour.

Why AGPL? +

AGPL keeps the open-source version protected: companies can self-host freely, and any modifications shipped to users have to be open-sourced too. If you ship RedDB inside a closed-source product, get a commercial license from us.

Can I move from Cloud back to self-host? +

Yes. Backups are standard RedDB snapshots that you can restore locally. There is no proprietary fork or lock-in.
